Competition Purpose

Members of the judging panel have always mentored emerging designers. THENEXTNOW is a competition designed to help its sponsors and panelists identify up and coming designer jewelry brands that display true originality and salability. The competition was also spawned to offer mentoring and a boost for a top emerging jewelry designer.

 

Who is eligible?

THENEXTNOW is a competition created for emerging designers. It is open to jewelry designers that are new on the scene and have not displayed their collections in the past at numerous trade shows.

Designers that have been sold at Ylang 23 are not eligible to compete in THENEXTNOW.

 

How to enter?

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Companies must submit their applications through the form on thenextnow.us by January 13, 2021 at 11:59pm EST in order to be eligible for THENEXTNOW. Applications are not considered final until the form has been submitted/received and the $25 processing fee has been paid/received. All processing fees are non-refundable. The event organizers may extend the deadline, at their sole discretion.

THENEXTNOW is a juried competition - Up to 30 designers will be selected by the event organizers to present their work at the competition on January 27, 2021. 

Acceptance is up to the discretion of the event organizers. In the event that entrants do not follow eligibility rules or there is too much interest to accommodate all applicants, the organizers have the right to refuse entrance to contestants.

• Detail

• Wear-ability

• Creativity

• Growth Potential

• Salability

 

The Prize

Online presentation, presence, and promotion on Ylang 23's website with possibility for purchase order and long-term relationship. 

Mentorship hours by various judges.

A one-year mentorship from The Ember Company, valued at $3000.

The winner accepts that the extent of all non-financial support, editorial coverage and mentoring support is at the provider’s reasonable discretion and subject to availability. All such assistance must be used within one year of the winner's announcement.

 

Event

The event will take place virtually on January 27th, 2021.

 

Last Bits

All photos, drawings, text, and any other content or information (collectively and severally, “Materials”) submitted or presented by you for THENEXTNOW shall become the sole and exclusive property of THENEXTNOW, and THENEXTNOW shall have no obligation to preserve, return, or otherwise make available to you or others any Materials.

We agree to your business’ confidentiality and will not disclose any trade or company secrets, including financials, production, etc. However, THENEXTNOW may use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish, and otherwise make use of Materials or content from THENEXTNOW in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created—throughout the world and for any purpose—without compensation to you of any kind.

 

You acknowledge and agree that Materials submitted by you may be made available by THENEXTNOW for viewing, rating, reviewing, and commenting by the public. You acknowledge that comments or ratings that you disagree with or are unhappy about may be published or otherwise become associated with Materials that you submit to THENEXTNOW. By submitting Materials to THENEXTNOW, you waive any privacy expectations that you may have with respect to the Materials.

Only finished jewelry products by the designer him or herself (not a representative) will be accepted by the judging panel. Photography and sketches will not be accepted.

If any entrants fabricate data, photography, designs, etc. they will be immediately disqualified. By submitting Materials to THENEXTNOW, you represent and warrant that the Materials do not infringe any copyright, trademark, property rights, rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party and that you have the full and unrestricted right to transfer the Materials to THENEXTNOW free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.

 

By entering the competition, your company agrees to hold harmless and release from all liability all panelists and sponsors (Ylang 23, The Ember Company, and the judges). You agree to hold the panelists and sponsors and its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns harmless from and against—and hereby waive any right to pursue—any claims of any nature arising in connection with THENEXTNOW use of the Materials submitted to THENEXTNOW and used in any manner in THENEXTNOW’s sole and absolute discretion. Decisions by the judges and panelists are final.

Purchase orders have the possibility of being fully consigned and not purchased.

 

THENEXTNOW’s sponsors have the right at any point to disqualify participants and withdraw elements of the prize from a winner.

THENEXTNOW reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to alter any contest rules at any time.

THENEXTNOW reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to terminate any contest at any time without prior notice.

 

Neither judges or panelists nor their officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, or assigns shall be liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of the usage of a prize by any winner including but in no way limited to each and every aspect of the taking of a trip or tour as part of a contest prize. The panelists and judges are not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with any contest promoted by THENEXTNOW.

 

By entering a contest, you conclusively are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these contest rules and terms and conditions as well as by any rules specific to such contest. This is an irrevocable condition of entry.
